Hurts, Habits & Hang-Ups Ministry

“Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.

Struggling with an Addiction, Hurt, Habit or Hang-up?

AddictionAddiction of any kind is no small task to overcome. Our society is plagued with things that the world offers to take away our pain (drugs, pornography, and alcohol to name a few). Many of us fall victim to addictive behavior because of something painful that has happened in our lives. Victims of rape, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and the list goes on.

Please know that you are not alone in your struggle. God provides healing ointment to you through the people of God. We are here to embrace you as you go through, not to judge and condemn you. All of us have a story to tell you. Share yours when and if you are ready, no questioned asked! Come and spend time listening to our stories!

The Ministry supports hurting persons and their families who seek help in overcoming any of life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups; alcohol, eating disorders, etc. Greater Zion members and the community participate in the weekly meetings, Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Persons from the Bethesda Mission, Salvation Army, YWCA Women’s Shelter are regular attendees. The meetings provide a non-threatening environment in which to share similar situations and to seek guidance through God’s Word. Attendees engage in open discussion of feelings and emotional pain with support and encouragement of one another towards healing and without ridicule or being put on the spot.  Bi-weekly breakout sessions provides an opportunity for men and women to discuss gender specific topics.
