Golden Years Ministry

”And whatsoever ye do in Word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him”. Colossians 3:17.

The Golden Years Ministry is designed to meet the needs of its senior members and to enhance their lives by providing supportive services, spiritual and educational enrichment, and social/recreational activities for all persons 55 years of age and older. Issues that affect seniors like Elder Law Protection, Survivor Benefits, Last Will and Testament, Tax Guidelines, and Alzheimer’s Disease are some of the topics covered by the educational sessions. Bus trips to Sight & Sound Theatre and out-of-area weekend trips are among the recreational fellowships our seniors enjoy.

This group believes in giving back to the community as they can, and sponsors ongoing outreach projects like the donation of used cell phones, reusable wigs, eyeglasses and other items to area women and children shelters. All donations are given to local charities.  The ministry hosts a Wednesday, Mid-week Afternoon Bible Study at 1:00 p.m.  Ministry meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 1:00 PM, and are open to all Greater Zion seniors.
