Deaconess Ministry

“Be shepherd of God’s flock that is under your care serving as overseers not for money but as God would want you to be.” I Peter 5:2

CommunionThe Deaconess Ministry makes provision for the Lord’s Supper as often as the church observes the event. This includes maintaining the inventory for the elements, preparing the communion table and elements, along with cleanup after the service. The Deaconess coordinate female baptisms and aid the candidates before and after the event. They launder the communion linens, baptism clothing and towels, and iron the communion linens. The Deaconess Ministry has a bereavement team who visits the sick and those who have death in the family, often assisting with food items or a monetary gift. They sometimes accompany their husbands when serving communion to homebound members. A member of the ministry assists the Deacon Ministry in preparing the membership and baptism certificates and award Bibles. Deaconess undergo training from our Senior Pastor, too, at the same time their husbands are in training. Their aim is to hold fast to our biblical foundation being shepherds of God’s flock that is under our care, and as God would have us to be.
